Dana Bean
Merging the whimsical with the mundane, Dana’s paintings are playfully infused with an anxiety and lazy nostalgia. Smothered by the blitz of modern conveniences, the isolated characters in Dana’s paintings suffer from malaise and the apprehension of sustaining a connection with the viewer. They are weighed down with the responsibility of maintaining the character, material goods, and routines that they think they need.
Dana was conceived in South Africa, born in Colorado, but by Los Angeles standards is considered a tried and true LA native (transplanted at age 12)
